| Activity of the Technical and LNG Operations Department | |
The Technical and LNG Operations Department, which forms part of the Maritime Transport Direction, is in charge of the inspection and following up of existing vessels and vessels prior to being contracted. It performs the control and monitoring of vetting inspections. It develops the basic technical specifications for new building and controls them. It is responsible for the analysis, control and monitoring of chartering policies in terms of the technical conditions and guarantees. It makes proposals and performs following up and control of claims against ship owners. The Technical and LNG Operations Department interacts with all of the departments that form the STREAM, in order to facilitate diversity of traffic, managing, with the owners and the terminals, the compatibilities of our vessels in the maximum possible number of terminals around the world. Likewise, they cooperate with other Companies to confirm the compatibility of their ships in Spanish terminals, with which there is a good and fluid relationship. It is in charge of the analysis and calculation of maritime transport costs. It proposes improvements to be included in existing vessels and their following up, and it proposes dry dock dates as well. It performs the ports' activity negotiation, following up and monitoring. At present, it manages the operation of the Partners' 11 LNG carriers. They follow the new building process of the four new vessels that will operate for Stream during 2010. It provides support to the Logistics Department for everything related to the vessels' operation, and it cooperates on the fleet plans' development. |
