Escobar LNG is the Argentinas second LNG regasification terminal.
The terminal was built by a consortium of Argentina's state-owned utility Enarsa and YPF, using technology provided by Excelerate Energy.
Escobar LNG allows delivery of up to 4 bcma of natural gas to Argentina's market. Due to its favourable location, Escobar LNG has a significant impact on the supply to Buenos Aires and the north of Argentina, adding flexibility and fast response to these growing markets.
This facility includes a 150,900 m³ storage and regasification vessel. Conventional LNG carriers transfer their cargos by means of Ship-to-Ship transfer (STS) to the regasification vessel. This regasification vessel allows LNG to be vaporized onboard so that natural gas can be directly fed into Argentina's pipeline system.
